ICE HANGING ON......

It was a very quiet day in The Ciste Corrie on Ben Nevis. The temperature was well above freezing on the tops today, walking in it was down to base layers. Anooj and I had the place to ourselves it seemed. Still plenty of ice around so perfect for Anooj to perfect his crampon technique and we also did some steep ground and a few simple snow belays. The CIC Cascades and even the Curtain were still in an icy condition, but that could well be the last time we'll see them this winter. It's a shame there is a warm spell this week with all the ice around, but don't give up as the end of the week it looks like cooling down again. We got a soaking on the way out and a lot of hopeful folk were heading up to the CIC as we were walking out this afternoon.

I hope it stays for a good bit yet. If it does I will go back in the middle of April for a few days.

I guess that we may still have more cold, snow you never know! Forecast is for lower temperatures by the weekend so should all freeze up
