Yesterday was a belter at Loch Morlich, Northern Corries

Yesterday was a glorious blue skies day despite forecast predicting cloud cover. I had a afternoon bike blast up Glenmore and around Loch Morlich. Today on the mountain was definitely more in the way of cloud and we had some light snow showers in the afternoon in the Cairngorms. The Fiacaill Ridge was good fun today, its requires a bit of concentration when its not completely snow covered and softish snow with plenty of holes between the boulders lower down the ridge. The ground was frozen at lower altitudes and some ice on the trails, the plateau area was frozen ground where the snow was scoured but didn't require crampons. There seemed to be quite a few folk out enjoying the start of winter. Voices heard over in Coire an Lochain and Sneachda. Half a dozen folk out on the Fiacaill too. Looking like another dump of snow tomorrow and higher winds. Staying cold on the hills and freezing levels dropping overnight. The winter has arrived!
