It was a cloudy and drizzly morning in Torridon but has the weather forecast predicted, it brightened up around mid day. We had a leisurely afternoon walk onto the western Munro summit of Liathach, Mullach an Rathain. Liathach is in my top two of finest mountains in the UK, if not anywhere on the planet! You know which is number one? Every time I get onto this most alluring  of mountain ridges I keep changing my mind and it is nudges up to my number one! Today was no exception. The clouds dispersed and the sun beat down. The clarity of light in the cool air was fantastic and a top day for photography as well as a great mountain day. Some fresh snow above 900m and quite soft. The northern corries of Liathach still well loaded with the white stuff. Another memorable ascent. I noticed since just last June how much work has gone into extending the path up the Toll Ban. The excellent rocky staircase now extends as far as the steep scree at around 900m altitude.
