TORRIDON WEEK - DAY 2, BEINN EIGHE

Lochan Coire Mhic Fhearchair & Beinn Eighe's Tripple Buttress
Gerry & Elisabeth battling the witry conditions
Morrisons Gully, complete!
Looking into the northern corries of Liathach
As forecasted there was a cold, windy and wet blast in the North West today. The plan for day two of our Torridon adventure was to get onto one of the classic big ridges in this wonderful area. On a day like we had that would have been an unpleasant struggle and not much in the way of views. So we headed into Beinn Eighe's Coire Mhic Fhearchair to see how bad it really was. Right from the start, it was a cold and gusty wind we had to contend with in Coire Dubh Mor. Light rain and later sleet was encounted above 400m. It felt more like a December day than May! We were knocked about up at  Lochan Coire Mhic Fhearchair and high windchill. We all decided that was the point to descend to the comforts of the Torridon Inn! Very impressive all the same with snow up on the Tripple Buttress, one of the finest features of the mountain.
