HAPPY NEW YEAR

The Northern Corries, Cairngorms
The view from Meall a' Bhuachaille
Cairn Gorm from Loch Morlich
A very Happy New year from Tarmachan Mountaineering. There has been a lack of blog posts over the last 3 weeks, we were over in Patagonia and a fabulous trekking/wildlife trip. Once I have sorted through the 2500 images I took I will post a trip report! We arrived back in Avimeore yesterday after 24 hours of travelling from Chile. So it was good to get out for the usual New Year Day stomp up the hill and a bike ride to the foot of Meall a' Bhuachaille. A fresh dusting of snow overnight and colder temperatures left frozen ground above about 400m. It was nice to feel the cold and look across to the Northern Corries that are lean, but white. The ground is frozen, lets hope the next few days of snowfall high up will get things looking more like winter. The weekend prior to Christmas, Brian Morrison was running a course for me. Things weren't looking very wintry then but the group of five folk he had still enjoyed some quality tuition on day one in The Cairngorms. Day two and Brian took them over to the west and they enjoyed No.4 Gully on Ben Nevis which was complete, if a little soft. I hope everyone has a wonderful 2016 and thank you to all clients and friends who joined me on the hill last yer, lets hope this one will be as much fun. Watch out for my Patagonian blog tomorrow!
