The heat continues! A fantastic heatave across much of The Highlands which has been ongoing for sometime now. The temperatures rose another notch, up to the mid 20's in The Cairngorms today. With just a slight breeze on the tops, it really was hot out there. Very rare to see me on the Scottish hills wearing shorts (midges, ticks, etc) but with a nice bike ride up Glenmore followed by a good man made, stepped path on Meall a' Bhuachaille and no biting beasties about, I felt safe! It was a clear skes morning but with some haze so the hills not so clear. Fabulous time for wildlife and plantlife with the hills ablaze with flowers just now. The clouds rolled in later this afternoon and looking like it could well rain over The Cairngorms this evening.
We had a brilliant time over the weekend on the Isle of May and Bass Rock. This is a birdwatchers paradise. I will post up some photos tomorrow of these amazing islands out in the Firth of Forth, after I edit the images of hundereds of Puffins :) Looking like a lot of big downpours and tunderstorms for the rest of the week. Then it's back to cooler, wetter conditions by next weekend. It was a good summer :)
